Our full Terms & Conditions are the legal agreement that governs your subscription with Websyt. This article explains the key points in plain English. If anything here ever conflicts with the full Terms & Conditions, the Terms & Conditions take priority.
Cancelling
You can cancel by giving us 30 days' notice through our cancellation form. There are no refunds.
- Monthly billing: your service ends 30 days after we receive your cancellation notice.
- Annual billing: cancelling counts as notice that you won't be renewing — your service continues uninterrupted until the end of your current paid annual period, then ends with no further charges.

Ownership of your website
The website we build and host for you remains our intellectual property at all times. This doesn't change, no matter how long you've been a customer or how much you've paid. While you're subscribed, you have full use of your site; this licence ends when your subscription ends.
In practical terms, this means we're not able to hand over the site, its code, or its content if you leave us. See What Happens If I Leave Websyt for what this means for you.
Pricing and payment
- Charges are payable in advance, either monthly or annually (your choice).
- Prices are exclusive of VAT, which is added where applicable.
- We may increase prices once a year, on your subscription anniversary. If we do, we'll give you two months' written notice. If you don't want to accept the increase, you can let us know within 10 days of that notice, and we'll end your agreement with two weeks' notice instead, so you're never locked into a price rise you didn't agree to.
Missed payments
If a payment is missed, you have a 10 business day grace period to resolve it. If it's still unresolved after that, we may suspend your site until the balance is paid. Full detail: What Happens If I Miss a Payment
What we're responsible for, and what we're not
We provide our services with reasonable care and skill, and we aim to meet any timeframes we give you. Although these are always estimates rather than guarantees.
That said, like most service providers, our liability is limited:
- We're not liable for indirect losses such as loss of profits, loss of business, or loss of data.
- Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the issue arose.
- If something does go wrong, you'll need to let us know in writing within one month of becoming aware of it, otherwise, we won't be able to accept liability for that issue.
This is a standard part of most service contracts and isn't something specific to Websyt. It's designed to keep the relationship fair and predictable for both sides.
Events outside our control
If something happens that's genuinely outside our control, for example, a major outage at a third-party provider we rely on, or another event of that kind, and it stops us delivering your service for more than 4 weeks, either of us can end the contract.
Your responsibilities
A couple of things we ask of you as a customer:
- The content (text, images, etc.) you provide us ("Materials") needs to be accurate, and not breach anyone else's rights or contain anything unlawful or inappropriate.
- You'll need to give us reasonably timely cooperation and information so we can actually deliver the service. If delays happen on your end, we can't be held responsible for any resulting impact.
Branding
We may include a small "Designed by Websyt Ltd" credit in your site's footer.
Questions about any of this
This summary is here to make things clear, not to replace the full agreement. If you'd like to read the complete Terms & Conditions, or have a question about anything above, contact our support team — we're happy to talk it through.
